Fernando Aceves first saw the light of day in Mexico City in 1965.
What began as an adolescent concern for finding his personal vision of music, transformed over time into a most prolific photographic journey documenting the force of rock and roll.

Traveling from Mexico City throughout the United States, Canada and England, Aceves captured the Rolling Stones, Carlos Santana, Bono, Ray Charles, Chuck Berry, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Britney Spears and many other performers in unique historical circumstances. The Rolling Stones in San Lazaro’s temple in downtown Mexico City and David Bowie in front of Diego Rivera’s wall painting are two examples of his powerful and artistic images.

Aceves has worked mainly for concert promoters, record companies, Mexican and foreign publications and the artists themselves, such as Paul McCartney (1993), Pink Floyd (1994), David Bowie (1997) and the Rolling Stones, among many others. In 2000 The Museum of Modern Art of Mexico City presented his highly influential exhibition, The Rolling Stones, the first time music photography had been given status in Mexico.

One of the world’s best ‘live’ photographers, Fernando has photographed hundreds of concerts in the United States, Canada and Great Britain. He is the official photographer of the National Auditorium in Mexico City where his work can be currently be seen in a ten year retrospective exhibition.
